Poetry: I want it back

How do lovers turn into strangers
Is the question I ask
What good would it be if we stayed lovers
But hide from them
As if we were outlanders

If you had left me to ignorance
We wouldn't be in this mess
Take responsibility for my heart
And don't digress
Take back the pain
Soothe me with kindness
And surface with happiness

I, too, want to love again
Will it be the same?
Give it back
My heart that you severely cut
Give it back in full shape
Take responsibility
And don't digress
